Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today our school was treated to a  performance by the Johnston School of Irish Dance. Several other students in our building, who attend other Irish dancing schools, also participated in a couple of the dances. I'm sorry I had to miss it - I heard the students loved it! Thank you to Karen Augello for organizing this assembly!

Last week Officer Brand presented the last of the grade level CODE assemblies. We will have one more school-wide assembly at the end of the year. The students have enjoyed these assemblies and have learned a great deal about a variety of topics, from personal safety to bullying.

Don’t forget that our combined Science Fair and Family Math Night is tomorrow (Tuesday) night. Science Fair projects will be on display from 6:30 – 7:30 and students can participate in math games and activities in the classrooms from 7:00 – 8:00. Science Fair projects can be dropped off today from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., and tomorrow morning from 7:00 – 8:00 a.m. I could use a couple of volunteers today from 2:45 – 3:30 to help set up for the Science Fair if you are available. Displays should be taken home at the conclusion of the Science Fair.

The New York State English Language Arts Assessment for 3rd – 5th will be held on April 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Please make sure your child is present and on time these mornings, is well-rested, and well-fed. A separate letter about these assessments is being sent home with your child. The NYS Math Assessment will take place on April 30, May 1st, and May 2nd.

Dr. Brown will be presenting the budget for East Hill Parents on Monday, May 5th at 7:00 p.m. in the high school large group instruction room. The actual vote is May 20th from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. We are looking for five more volunteers to be poll watchers on the 20th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Please let me know if you are interested.

We have moved on to geometry for the math words of the week. This week’s words are square (M), rectangle (T), circle (W), polygon (Th), and triangle (F).
Happy St. Patrick's Day from Marlee!
