It's Time for Routines!

School is Coming!
School is right around the corner, nine days to be exact! It's time to start getting your children in the school routine if you have not already done so. The sooner you start the routines, the easier it will be for them to transition. Going to bed early and getting up at "school time" will help them when September 4th rolls around.

Placement Letters
All students should have received their informational packet and placement letter by now. For students whose teacher was listed as TBD, you will be receiving a new letter this week. You should also be able to access Schooltool later today to find out this information. To access Schooltool, go to the West Genesee website (www.westgenesee.org) and click on Schooltool which is found on the bottom left under Connect, or just click on this link. If you do not have a Schooltool account or have forgotten your password, there is a link that shows you what to do. When it asks you to enter your email, be sure to enter the email that we already have on file.

Supplies
If you haven't yet purchased your school supplies, now is the time to do so! School supply lists are located on the West Genesee website (www.westgenesee.org). Just click on East Hill Elementary at the top and then Supply Lists under School Links, or just click on this link. If you need assistance securing supplies for your child, and you were unable to attend the school supply drive this past weekend, please contact me at (315) 487-4648 and we will make sure your child has everything he/she needs.

Join the PTA!
Please consider joining the PTA this year. We have a very active PTA that does many wonderful things for our school. Membership is $6.00 per year. The PTA will have a membership table set up on Curriculum Night (along with a committee sign up table - we always need volunteers!) or you can join online via this link.

Welcome to East Hill!
We have 67 new kindergartners and 26 new 1st through 5th graders to welcome to East Hill! Kindergarten Orientation takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, 8/27 at 9:00. New Student Orientation takes place on Wednesday, 8/28 at 9:00.

Summer Check-In!

Greetings from East Hill!
I hope you and your family have been enjoying your summer! My summer has been wonderful so far. I've been able to spend time with family taking short vacations and seeing a lot of live music, my favorite thing to do! Before we know it the State Fair will be here!

Summer Mailing
Our summer mailing, which includes placement, meal, and transportation information, is scheduled to go out on Wednesday, August 21st so you should receive it by that Friday or Saturday. It is possible that your child's teacher will be noted as TBD (To Be Determined). The reason for this is that a couple of our grade levels currently have an enrollment that may require us to add an additional section. Rather than assign teachers now, and then have to reassign teachers later, we feel it is best to hold off until we are sure. Students come and go throughout the summer so we want to make sure we have the most accurate information before proceeding. Please do not worry, we have several excellent candidates in mind should we need to add any additional sections.
